When we picked the song for this year’s video, these lyrics so reminded us of the boys. Consider . . .
Vaughn’s best line of the year, “You don’t control me…what do you think you are…my controller?”
HA! Well…
We joke that we need to “run” our boys every day – like dogs (sorry?) – or they will climb the walls and chew-up the furniture. So, thank goodness both Logan & Vaughn fully embraced soccer in 2014, wearing out the grass in our backyard, playing it every day. The World Cup came at the perfect time this Summer, and they watched as much as they could. We now have more soccer stickers & cards than any house should, and the 32 country flags hang proudly in their room. Ever the front-runners, they’ve chosen to really be proud of their German heritage this year. W-i-n-n-i-n-g!
It can’t all be about “futbol” though, and Eric brought Logan into the USC game-day fold this year. What did Vaughn want in return? His own USC gear that fits only him. (Done, and he looks good in #55!)
As it always does, this year has flown by, but not before we were able to make two trips to Indiana to visit Emily’s family, including our longest trip yet this Summer with Emily taking the boys for nearly 3 weeks! She was thrilled to get to see so many long time friends and family.
The short break this year between Thanksgiving & Christmas seemed almost unfair, as it only added to the craziness (with Logan’s 8th birthday in there as well). We feel lucky every year we get to close with Eric’s Mom & Dad staying with us for a week at Christmas.
