Happy Father’s Day, Dad!

Dad,

Happy Father’s Day!  I appreciate & love you so much.

You’ve been such a good example for me of what it means to be a strong, principled person, and a really good Dad.  I think about that more now as a father than I ever did before.

Let’s face it, when I was young, I wanted you to bend on some of those principles, but you’d never fall for any of my tricks!  Time will tell if my boys are more clever than I was, but I only hope to be the same example for them that you were for me.  I know this may sound strange, but I’ve actually thought about this often throughout my life. You may not be a large man in stature, but I’ve always thought of you as a giant.  Not just because you were my Dad, but because I’ve always marveled at your strength of character, again, that example that you always set.

I only hope my children will one day say the same about me.
